What’s new in Froge

What changed in each version. Froge doesn’t check for updates and doesn’t fetch this page itself. The “What’s new” link in Settings opens it in your browser.

Unreleased: first public version

  • Speech recognized on your PC

Whisper small runs on your PC. Add Parakeet v3 for more speed in 25 European languages; Whisper answers for the rest. Froge asks before it downloads either.

  • Bring your own key, off by default

Hosted recognition with Deepgram, Groq or OpenAI, and hosted cleanup with Groq, both on your own key. Each stays off until you switch it on, and adding a key doesn’t switch anything on.

  • Language and microphone dropdowns

Settings lists 46 languages, with your Windows language first, or lets Froge detect it. Pick your microphone from the ones on your PC.

  • Kept out of clipboard history

When Froge pastes through the clipboard, it marks what it puts there so Windows keeps it out of Clipboard history (Win+V) and cloud clipboard sync. Third-party clipboard managers may ignore that mark.

  • Report a problem from the app

“Report a problem” opens a draft in your own mail program, with the app version, Windows version, which engine and providers are on, and a crash summary. Nothing you said is in it, and nothing is sent unless you send it.
